+ WHY SHOULD WE TRUST YOU WITH OUR YOUNG PLAYERS?
At EVO Hockey we are extremely serious about the welfare of all players. All of our coaches on the Primary School Project have received excellent training in the delivery of our programme and have the required enhanced DBS checks.
Our Primary School Project has been carefully designed with input from sport psychologists, movement development specialists, teachers and our expert coaching team. We promote a sports learning environment for children of all levels of experience, that is active and fun, encourages creativity, teamwork and freedom of expression.
+ WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD BRING TO EACH SESSION?
Your child will need to wear their usual school PE kit and we recommend in the colder months to have warm layers (jumper and tracksuit) as we will be playing outside. Also, please provide your son/daughter with a water bottle. We will provide sticks each session. Shinpads and gumshields are recommended.
+ DOES MY CHILD NEED SHINPADS AND A MOUTHGUARD?
Our sessions have been designed to minimise any risks. However, we would recommend you provide shinpads and a mouthgaurd for your child.
+ DO I NEED TO BUY ANY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT FOR MY CHILD TO BE INVOLVED IN THE CLUB?
No. EVO will provide your child with a hockey stick each session.
+ MY CHILD HAS NOT PLAYED HOCKEY BEFORE, IS THAT OK?
Yes! Our sessions are designed to be differentiated for all levels of player.
+ WHERE WILL MY CHILD CHANGE?
Your child will need to get changed in their classrooms before the club and bring their bags and personal items to the club for efficient dismissal at the end of the club.
+ WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS ADDITIONAL NEEDS?
Please inform us if your child has any additional needs and we will ensure that we facilitate them in each session.
+ WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THERE IS A PROBLEM COLLECTING MY CHILD?
Please inform the school as soon as you can so a message can be passed on to the coach. Our coaches are players and coaches at clubs around the South East so need to know if there is an issues ASAP.
+ WHAT SHOULD I DO IS SOMEONE ELSE HAS TO PICK MY CHILD UP?
If you know this is the case in advance please inform the coach when you pick your child up from the previous session or send your child in with a signed letter informing them of this change. If you wish your child to be picked up by someone else last minute, please inform the school who will get a message to the coach ASAP.
+ WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS TO MISS A SESSION?
If your child is ill on the day on the session please ask the school to pass on a message to the coach to not expect your child that day. If you know in advance, please inform the coach in the session before so they can note your child’s absence.
